Airtel launches 3G services, to cover 40 cities by March – 3G Plans Announced

Bharti Airtel Ltd launched its third-generation (3G) mobile phone service in Bangalore on Monday and promised to deliver it in 40 cities by March.
Airtel, India’s largest telecom operator, paid nearly Rs.12,300 crore for licences to operate 3G services in 13 operating areas, or circles.
Atul Bindal, president of mobile services, said Airtel plans to make the service available across all 13 circles by March and enter agreements with other operators to offer the service to customers in 1,500 cities by March 2012.

Rs. 9 for 10 MB, validity 1 day
Rs. 45 for 40 MB Validity 3 days
Rs. 60 for 65 MB, validity 3 days
Rs. 103 for 100 MB, validity 30 days
Rs. 200 for 250 MB, validity 30 days
Rs. 450 for 600 MB, validity 30 days
Rs. 750 for 2 GB, validity 30 days.
